The Merry Harriers & Llama Trekking

I worked closely with the Merry Harriers from 2019 - 2023, when under the ownership of the de Savary Family. Offering 360-degree sales and marketing representation service meant I worked closely with the small team at the Merry Harriers, reporting directly to the Managing Director and Owner, as well as the General Manager on property; this wasn’t the typical agency/ client relationship, I was very much integrated and part of the team. It was a first for me working with Llamas and Shepherd Huts, as well as countryside pub with rooms - and looking back on the partnership feel super proud of what was achieved from creating the pub as a destination in its own right to growing the ARR by 70%, creating a consistent marketing comms strategy on multi-channels and growing the audience (socials from 100’s to 9,000 and email database from 100’s to 18,000) whilst attracting new customer demographics, which in turn, transformed the business mix. Not only this, implementing new revenue channels via voucher sales, trek packages and linking with local businesses to create press-worthy experiences. Here is just a sample of some of the services offered during this tenure: Responsibility for the entirety of sales and marketing strategy, including consistently managing their marketing communications, campaigns, outreach to travel partners, social media, blogger and influencer press trips; long and short-term marketing strategies, handling of the marketing budget, creation of their best-selling stay experiences, photo-shoots, creation of both on and offline marketing materials.

The Trafalgar St James, Trafalgar Square, London

I worked with Trafalgar St James during the rebrand from Hilton ‘The Trafalgar’ to Curio Collection ‘Trafalgar St James’, relaunching as destination hotel in an iconic London landmark. It was an exciting project to be involved in, the hotel had seen a total renovation and the Rooftop was a real selling point. My role as ‘Head of Entertainment’ saw me working directly with the entertainment market, travel specialists working with the industry and high end leisure market in the UK and USA clients. With responsibilities to drive revenue from these market segments into rooms and events as well as managing marketing partnerships sought through these segments. Many high moments were had working with this property, but the most memorably was winning the business for the Star Wars photo call, which had me welcoming and chaperoning the whole A List cast through the hotel to the dizzy heights of the Rooftop. Standing up there on a warm sunny Friday afternoon, looking out to square was a very proud moment indeed!

Faena Hotel, Miami Beach, USA

I proudly worked with the beautiful Faena properties on a year-long project, representing them in the UK market to the entertainment and high-end leisure market. I supported both the Director of Entertainment and the Director of Leisure and their teams to dirve bookings to both Miami properties. I had the privilege of organising and hosting a number of sales missions in London and around the UK for the Faena team. Consisting of office appointments, bespoke hosted events and representing them at UK tradeshows and industry events with key travel buyers. A highlight was LE Miami 2018 where we co-hosted a week-long engagement of client showrounds, lunches, dinners, and entertainment on property with the UK travel buyers.
